Syrian Voices II – Through war and the pandemic, Syrian civil society rises
For the second year in a row, Search for Common Ground will use film to bring Syrian perspectives to the discussions of the conference. Through videos, participants will be given a tour of the reality of peacebuilding work in Syria, and they will hear from some of the same people that shared their perspectives on a peaceful Syria in June 2020. How has the pandemic shifted their perspectives? What are Syrian civil society’s needs, successes, and hopes?
Representatives of Syrian civil society will demonstrate how a peacebuilding approach empowers Syrian civil society and protects civil society space – particularly during the pandemic, and Search’s Gender Advisor in the MENA Region, Syrian-Tunisian Rim Aljabi, will guide participants through a discussion about Civil Society, Gender dynamics, and COVID-19.
