Thank you for receiving us on this first day [of the second von der Leyen Commission].

I think it is very symbolic and shows that Ukraine is very important also to the incoming [European] Commission, the new President of the European Council and also, of course, for me, as I have been a very strong supporter of Ukraine, [for] a very long time.
 
And it is important that [since] this war is going on in Ukraine, we have to do everything to stop it, really to weaken Russia, to strengthen Ukraine by [providing] you more weapons, ammunitions, soldiers’ training [of] what you need. But also, [it is] diplomatic and political support you need.
 
From us, I think it is important to say that there is definitely more to come. There is unity on European level that we have to support Ukraine.
 
It is also very clear that Russia would be much weaker in this war [of aggression] without the help of China, Iran and North Korea. That is also very clear that it is not a European issue, it is actually much wider global issue. That’s why we also intend to reach out [to] our global partners to really emphasise what is at stake here and why is also in their interest to support Ukraine. So, Ukraine will win, and we are here with you.
