UNGA: High Representative Josep Borrell co-hosts ministerial meeting on the implementation of the Two-State solution
On Thursday, 26 September in New York, in the margins of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the High Representative (HR/VP) Josep Borrell will co-host the “Ministerial meeting on the situation in Gaza and the implementation of the Two-State Solution as the path to just and comprehensive peace”.
The meeting will take place at 17:00 (EST), at the United Nations. The High Representative will co-host the meeting together with the Foreign Ministers of Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Nigeria, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the SGs of the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OiC) - comprising the Ministerial LAS-OiC Contact Group - as well as Norway.
At the end of the meeting, around 20:00 (EST), the HR/VP will hold a press conference in the UN Press Room.
The meeting will have the twofold aim to discuss the situation in Gaza; and an agenda to work towards the implementation of the two-State Solution. The latter will entail planning follow-up meetings after the UNGA event.
