Maximising the Strength of Syrian Youth-Led Organisations: A Way Forward
Young people in Syria are brimming with potential and innovative ideas to address pressing societal issues. However, they are often faced with a lack of resources, access to knowledge, as well as recognition from established organisations. In order to counter this phenomenon, in recent
years, Syrian civil society organisations have been increasing attempts to promote the concept of “capacity-sharing” between NGOs and Youth-Led Organisations (YLOs). By transferring knowledge, skills, and resources from experienced NGOs to young leaders, Syrian youth are given the tools to be powerful agents of change and to take the lead and reclaim ownership in community initiatives throughout Syria.
During this hybrid event, speakers from Door Beyond War, Olive Branch, Basmeh & Zeitooneh, and the EU delegation to Syria, will talk about their innovative work in this field, showcase successful models of collaboration between NGOs and youth-led organisations, and provide inspiration and practical insights on how to promote and scale up capacity-sharing initiatives in the future.
The event will be conducted in English, Arabic<>English interpretation services will be available.
