In March 2022, during the theatre festival, two performances by Ukrainian students spoke about the atrocities of war. What stunned me was that they had started to stage these plays before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
That was a reminder that this war actually started earlier. When Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine it destroyed the peace of mind of each and every European. But it also united our nations against the common enemy and proved that we stand together.
Poland opened its borders to our closest neighbour. But it was much more than that. Polish people opened their hearts and homes to our sisters and brothers in need.
