Reintegration of Returnees in Northeastern Syria

This panel discussion will delve into civil society-led strategies for reintegrating returnees into Northeastern Syria's (NES). The event will spotlight community-driven reintegration initiatives aimed at fostering social cohesion, providing livelihood support, and encouraging youth involvement within host communities.  Furthermore, it will highlight the collaborative efforts of civil society organizations (CSOs) and local governance actors in addressing critical service gaps vital for regional stability.  From pre-departure preparations within the camp to successful reintegration into public society, the discussion will outline the multifaceted roles CSOs play in facilitating the entire returnee journey.

This side event has three objectives:

1. Explore CSOs' Reintegration Strategies: Examine varied approaches by civil society organizations (CSOs) in Northeastern Syria for reintegrating returnees, prioritizing stability and regional needs.

2. Emphasize Information Management: Highlight the vital role of efficient information management, needs assessments, and data sharing plays in facilitating returnee processes, coordinating stakeholders, and overcoming challenges.

3. Highlight Collaborative Initiatives: Showcase successful collaborative efforts between CSOs and local governance actors, advocating for and addressing service gaps, while also enhancing social cohesion, supporting livelihoods, and engaging youth in host communities to promote stability and sustainable reintegration.
