About the Delegation of the European Union to Yemen.

The Delegation
The Delegation of the European Union to Yemen has the status of a diplomatic mission and officially represents the European Union in Yemen. It is one of over 140 EU delegations around the world. Since September 2017, the EU Delegation to Yemen has been operating from Amman, Jordan.
The EU seeks to develop closer relations with Yemen in order to enhance political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, development cooperation, and respond to humanitarian needs.
The Delegation's mandate includes the following:
- To ensure the representation of the European Union in Yemen.
- To support the UN-led peace process.
- To promote political and economic relations between the European Union and Yemen.
- To develop and maintain extensive relations with governmental institutions and non-state actors and raise awareness about the EU and its assistance programmes in Yemen.
- To promote and explain relevant EU policies and priorities to Yemeni stakeholders and the public.
- To coordinate, manage and monitor the implementation of the European Union's assistance programmes.
- To coordinate with Member State Embassies, particularly in areas of political relations, security, trade and external assistance.

Our Office
Political, Press and Information Section
The Political, Press and Information Section is responsible for the political dialogue with Yemeni authorities and other stakeholders with a view to achieving an inclusive and sustainable peace in Yemen. It also develops and maintains relations with Yemeni stakeholders, civil society and the media. The section leads the delegation’s efforts to promote and explain EU’s policies and priorities to Yemeni stakeholders and the public, including through different outreach activities.
Development Cooperation Section
The Development Cooperation Section manages and oversees the implementation of EU development programmes in Yemen. It works with implementing partners and relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of EU development programmes. The EU development portfolio in Yemen includes programmes focusing on resilience, human and social development, economic recovery and growth, and peace and stability.
Finance, Contract & Audit Section
The section is responsible for sound financial management of the funding available for development aid in the different phases of the implementation, starting with budget planning and forecasting and reporting on the results. The responsibilities also include verification of all aspects of aid implementation from contracting through disbursement to closure and audit of projects.
Administration Section
The Administration Section of the Delegation is responsible for the daily functioning of the delegation, including management of human resources, logistics, procurement and support.
