About the Ambassador
Ambassador Marc Fiedrich is a European public servant since 2003. He served in the EU Delegations to Nigeria and Venezuela and in the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments in Brussels before being appointed EU Ambassador to Timor-Leste.
Ambassador Fiedrich is from Germany, he is married without children.

EU and Timor-Leste: Like-minded partners
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the homepage of the Delegation of the European Union to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.
The European Union (EU) and Timor-Leste have had a close and fruitful relationship since independence was restored to Timor-Leste. The European Union and Timor-Leste see eye-to-eye on today's global challenges, from fighting COVID-19, climate change, and poverty, to strengthening stability in an increasingly volatile world, to defending democratic principles, human rights, multilateralism, and a rules-based global order. Our close partnership makes us stronger and reinforces our capacity to deliver changes that improve lives.
The European Union enjoys strong political relations with Timor-Leste, and we are also a proud development partner, supporting the country in its drive to meet the Sustainable Development Goals.
I am honoured by the responsibility of leading our competent team to strengthen the EU-Timor-Leste relationship in all its aspects, both in bilateral terms and through cooperation at the regional and multilateral levels to address global challenges.
