Overall objectives

Facilitated Smart Agro-ecological Transformation of Agri-food Farming Systems (STAS) of the Mekong Delta of Vietnam (VMD) and strengthened resilience to climate change, environmental degradation and other external shocks.

Specific objectives

1) Enable policies and framework, including facilitation of development of supportive policies and frameworks, establishment of multi-stakeholder platforms and improved organizational capacity of PPP service providers to STAS.

2) Establish and consolidate Agro-Ecological Value Chains (AEVCs) including stocktaking, analyzing and consolidating currently practiced climate resilient agro-ecological systems, building capacity for farmers’ business organizations and cooperatives, and enabling Ag-SMEs to promote fair, healthy and climate and environmentally friendly and sustainable agro-ecology value chains.

3) Strengthen adaptive learning and advisory system, through enhancement of stakeholders’ capacity for M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) of food system transformation and their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) contributions; institutionalization of mechanisms that trigger innovations to support fair, healthy and climate and environmentally friendly and sustainable AEVCs.

Expected results

1) Enabling policy and frameworks to promote fair, healthy and climate and environmentally friendly agri-food systems in the VMD targeting disadvantaged groups.

2) Fair, healthy and climate and environmentally friendly VCs established and consolidated.

3) Strengthened adaptive learning and advisory system for implementing STAS and CCA.
