Brief summary/description |
The project promotes gender equality in Vietnam by increasing youth engagement and participation in addressing gender stereotypes.
|
Expected results |
In order for new gender attitudes and practices to stick, people need to be informed and inspired, apply new behaviours repeatedly, and be recognized for their contributions to their family, community and society. Thus, the project deploys a comprehensive set of interventions that combines (i) behaviour change communications that inspire change, (ii) recurring calls for action among the target public, and (iii) acknowledgement and awards for champions. The project initiates changes among youth, prominent journalists, and advertisements of pioneer businesses, who will then promote further changes to the public. Award mechanisms will encourage target groups to take actions to change gender stereotypes within and beyond the project’s timeline.
