A word from Head of Delegation to Papua New Guinea, Ambassador Jacques FRADIN

I arrived in Port Moresby 9 September 2022, an unforgettable day for me, as Papua New Guinea has always captured my imagination. I am both honoured and proud to be the European Union Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, where the EU has had a permanent Delegation since 1977. Forty-five years of partnership between the EU and Papua New Guinea has achieved great progress in terms of common interest and development co-operation.

For the past twelve years, I have been an EU Diplomat with a broad spectrum of experience in International Relations and Governance. Since joining the European Union in 2010, I have worked in various EU external relations posts. I served in the European External Action Service, as Head of Division for Political Strategic Planning of Common Security and Defence Policy just before moving to Papua New Guinea.

Prior to joining the EU, I worked for the Private sector and the French Ministry of Defence.  I graduated from the French Military Academy with an MBA in Science and Engineering.

My aim is to build on the unique relationship developed between Papua New Guinea and the European Union, creating friendships and reinforcing our partnerships in PNG and the region.
