On October 20, 2020, another round of the “European Union - Central Asia” high level Security and Political Dialogue was held online.

From the European side EEAS SG Ms Helga Schmid held a constructive dialogue with all the Central Asian Deputy Foreign Ministers and the Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister. Uzbekistan was represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of relations between the Central Asian states, as well as security cooperation between the countries of the region and the EU. The issues of promoting peace in Afghanistan through active involvement in regional social and economic processes were discussed.
