On 29 August, representatives of the Embassies of Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.  The meeting, which was joined by the EU Delegation, took place at the Chief Registrar’s offices at the Supreme Court of Kenya.  The meeting served to underline the good relations which exist between the Judiciary, the EU Member State Embassies and the EU Delegation. 

The EU Donors are providing substantial capacity-building support to the court system and the National Council on the Administration of Justice.  The European partners are helping to strengthen the ongoing national efforts to streamline the operations of the courts and make them more efficient.  The EU support to the judiciary sector is implemented in the context of the Project on Legal Empowerment & Aid Delivery (PLEAD).  PLEAD is one of the largest justice sector support programmes, which the EU is financing worldwide, and underlines the particular importance which the EU attaches to supporting Kenyan-led reforms.    

Following the courtesy call on the Chief Registrar, the Donor representatives visited the Kenya Judiciary Museum, which is hosted inside the premises of the Supreme Court.
