The Vice-President of the European Commission and the Secretary General of the Council of Europe reiterated the commitment to EU-Council of Europe cooperation on common values. Furthermore, they expressed their pride in the EU’s accession to the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention), the EU’s signature of the Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and human rights, democracy and the rule of law, and the enormous progress achieved on the EU’s accession to the European Convention on Human Rights.
