Promote national development and well-being by enhancing the capacity and efficiency of the National Interconnected System (SIN) to meet medium- and long-term electricity demand, particularly for the Metropolitan and Central Systems, under both normal conditions and emergencies (contingencies).

Main activities and expected results

Construction of the 500 kV Emboscada substation and its connection to the 220 kV network of the Metropolitan Transmission System and part of the Central System, to accompany the current and expected growth of demand in the metropolitan and central areas. This will avoid the concentration of transformation capacity in a single substation, provide the availability of several centers for energy injection into the 220 kV network to the Metropolitan and Central Systems and will promote the socioeconomic and social development of the population in the area of influence of the project.

Complementary measures of institutional strengthening and restructuring of the main electricity operator, ANDE, of reducing tariff imbalances and existing electricity losses, will increase the sustainability of investment and the development of the sector in the long term.
