The European Union (EU) set up the EUTM Mozambique military training mission two years ago to assist the Mozambican armed forces in protecting civilians and restoring security in the Cabo Delgado province.

The mission focusses on capacity building in areas such as military training, counterterrorism, protection of civilians, compliance with international law, and promoting the Women, Peace, and Security agenda.

Thanks to the success of the mission, EUTM Mozambique will now transition to a new military assistance mission, EUMAM Mozambique, in September.
