With a curly mullet, a to-go coffee in hand and a huge smile on their face, Jay greets us with a hug as we enter one of Tunis' many coffee shops. Jay is non-binary, uses the gender neutral pronouns they/them and is a queer activist in the Tunisian LGBTQ+ organization Mawjoudin, which means “we exist” in Arabic.
