European Union Integrated Border Management Assistance Mission in Libya Received New Mandate until June 2025
On 26 June, the Council of the European Union extended the mandate of EUBAM Libya, the European Union Integrated Border Management Assistance Mission in Libya, for an additional two years, until 30 June 2025. The Mission was established in May 2013.
EUBAM Libya will contribute in the next two years to enhance the capacity of the relevant Libyan authorities and agencies to manage Libya’s borders, to fight cross-border crime, including human trafficking and migrant smuggling, and to counter terrorism. The Mission will provide technical advice as well as capacity building activities at the operational and technical levels and projects, complemented as appropriate and on a case-by-case basis with specialized training. It will further provide strategic advice where requested by the Libyan authorities.
