At 603 700 km², Ukraine is bigger than any EU country. As we like to say, this is the size of our comfort zone. We will not give up until we have put our 603 700 km² comfort zone back together.

In the first months of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, launched on 24 February 2022, the trips were far from relaxed. Yet I had never felt so needed and so proud to do my job. The evacuation trains were taking people west from half of the country. The coaches were overcrowded. 200 people in a space designed for 40: children, pets, elderly people.
