Greetings!! Muli bwanji, Muli shani, Muli buti nobantu!!

I come to your country with a strong mandate to further strengthen and deepen the long-standing partnership between the European Union and the Republic of Zambia, and between Europeans and Zambians.

Our cooperation builds on our common history and on the shared values such as trust in equality, democracy, peace and effective multilateralism as core foundations of our domestic and international engagement.

European Union has been present in Zambia since 1975. Over the years, our partnership evolved from poverty reduction and assistance to development of key sectors of economy, to a partnership helping us to jointly seek solutions to global challenges, in today’s inter-connected world.

We work to address climate change adaption and develop sustainable, green economies, which provide affordable clean energy for private consumption and drive economic growth while protecting our environment.

We seek development of socially and environmentally responsible value chains that bring economic opportunities to local population and connect them to global markets. Together, we invest in human development of the young population - with quality education and new skills being the most important investment for the future.  

We seek to connect our continents not only through infrastructure, transport corridors and digital links, but also connecting the people who share the same purpose. As Team Europe, together with the EU Member States, we work to engage private sector, bring investors and international banks that help access to finance more affordable for local entrepreneurs. Through Erasmus+, we connect students and universities.
