This isn't an official website of the European Union

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the State of Kuwait inaugurated on July 14, 2019 by the then EU High Representative Vice-President Federica Mogherini, together with the then Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah, marks a significant milestone in the longstanding relationship between the EU and Kuwait. It is the third EU delegation to be established in the Gulf, following those in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and the 142nd EU Delegation in the world.

What we do

The EU Delegation is a fully-fledged diplomatic mission, responsible for the EU's political and economic relations with Kuwait. It  covers the wide range of areas of cooperation that exist between the EU and Kuwait, ranging from Political cooperation, trade and investment, energy , climate change & renewables, economic diversification, education, health, research & innovation and human rights.

A core function of the EU Delegation is to promote EU interests and values as well as engage with the Kuwaiti public. The EU Delegation aims to enhance people-to-people contacts and build bridges between the Kuwaiti and European societies and citizens. In this context, the Delegation provides insight on EU policies and cooperation programmes, which are of interest to Kuwait. It is the EU’s focal point for the Kuwaiti government, civil society, media, academia and the private sector.

The EU Delegation is the diplomatic face of the EU in Kuwait, and close coordination with the embassies of EU Member States is one of the most important roles we play to the benefit of EU-Kuwait relations. The EU Delegation works closely with EU Member States embassies in line with the “Team Europe” approach.
