EU actions in Kenya
The European Union Ambassador to Kenya, H. E Henriette Geiger joined the EU Delegation to Kenya in September 2021. Since then, the EU-Kenya Strategic Dialogue implementation is on course and the conclusion of negotiations on the EU-Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement has been reached.
Ms Geiger has a long standing career in the European Union institutions, where she served in key management positions working on political, development and security relations with Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Pacific regions. Prior to her joining the EU, she worked at the UN and in the private sector and civil society. Educated in both Germany and the United States, she obtained two master degrees in social sciences and earned a distinction as a Fulbright Scholar.

Deputy Ambassador
Ondrej Simek, a Czech national, was appointed as the Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Union to Kenya in 2023. Before his appointment, he spent 4 years in Brussels/Belgium, working as the European External Action Service (EEAS) policy officer in charge of EU relations with South Africa and Botswana. In parallel, he also worked as Alternate Chair of the Africa Council Working Group. Prior to his return to the EEAS headquarters in August 2019, he served as the Head of Political, Press and Information in EU Delegations to Uzbekistan and Rwanda. He has also previous working experience from the areas of peace and security, human and social development, public service reform and media. Ondrej holds MA in European Studies from the Central European University and MPhil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge. He is married and has two children.
