Message from the Ambassador
Dear Visitor,
Ahlan wa Sahlan!
Welcome to the official website of the Delegation of the European Union to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Our Delegation was founded close to 50 years ago – well before the European Union transformed from an economic community into a political union.
EU-Jordan relations have intensified over five decades of close cooperation.
In a volatile region beset by conflicts and threats, Jordan offers a unique potential and vast opportunities, and as such is a key partner for the EU in every field.
Our political and foreign policy dialogue is as strong as can be.
EU-Jordan relations are framed by one of the EU’s most ambitious Association Agreements.
Jordan was the first country in the EU’s southern neighbourhood to negotiate and adopt a new set of Partnership Priorities – including governance, green transition and human development.
The EU is one of Jordan’s top commercial, development and humanitarian partners.
Through a wide range of policies and instruments, the EU fully supports Jordan’s triple modernisation agenda – political, economic, and administrative reform – initiated under the auspices of His Majesty Abdullah II.
I invite you to explore our website and discover how the EU and Jordan work together to advance security, prosperity, and shared values, in the interest of all European and Jordanian citizens.
Yours sincerely,
Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas
Ambassador
