DG Development and Cooperation (EuropeAid) is responsible for formulating EU Development policy and for delivering development cooperation worldwide. Its main purpose is to implement most of the European Commission’s external assistance, through instruments such as the Development Cooperation Instrument (DCI) and the European Development Fund (EDF).

This vital task requires EuropeAid to deliver the EU’s aid budget in an open and accountable fashion. For this reason, it publishes its data in the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) Registry since 2011.
