Studying in Europe

Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.

It has an estimated budget of €26.2 billion. This is nearly double the funding compared to its predecessor programme (2014-2020).

The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.

It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also:

  • Supports the European Pillar of Social Rights.
  • Implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027.
  • Develops the European dimension in sport.

See the Resources section of the Erasmus+ portal for information on linguistic support, documents for applicants and proposal management.

Getting to know Guinea-Bissau

Guinea-Bissau has a strong history and is the cradle of many traditions that challenge and surprise us at every turn with the peculiarities that enrich it and make it so special to visitors, although it remains a mystery in the globalised world in which we live. The tourist potential of this country remains unknown and unexplored, as does its rich heritage, unique flora, fauna, and its ethnic and cultural diversity.

Visas

Procedures differ, depending on whether or not you intend to travel to a country that is a party to the Schengen Agreement, or to a non-Schengen EU Member State.

Twenty-two out of twenty-seven EU Member States are party to the Schengen Agreement that provides for a uniform approach to visa issues. Please, note that selected European states, not belonging to the EU, are also party to the Schengen Agreement.

For travellers to one of the Schengen countries, please, read carefully the information on Travelling in the EU, which will also give you guidance as to where you need to apply to.

If you are traveling to a non-Schengen EU Member State (Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland or Romania), you need to contact the embassy of that particular country.
