EUNAVFOR ASPIDES: Search and Rescue Operation in the Bab Al Mandeb Strait

On the evening of January 11, the flagship of the EUNAVFOR ASPIDES operation, ITS CAIO DUILIO, carried out a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation as an adrift sinking boat was identified while conducting her mission in the Bab Al Mandeb Strait.

During the operation, one person of Yemeni origin was rescued. The ship of EUNAVFOR ASPIDES handed over the rescued individual to the competent authorities of Djibouti on the 13th of January.
