On February 2, on board Italian Flagship FEDERICO MARTINENGO, at the presence of the Operation Commander, Rear Admiral Vasileios Gryparis (EL N), Commodore Konstantinos Pitykakis (EL N) handed over the duty of EUNAVFOR ASPIDES Force Commander to Commodore Michail Pantouvakis (EL N).

As Force Commander, Commodore Konstantinos Pitykakis supported the EU’s commitment in protecting the freedom of navigation, seafarers’ lives and global common goods.
On the previous day, the Operation Commander, awarded the EUNAVFOR ASPIDES (EU) Medal to the crew of HS HYDRA (EL).
