EUMAM-MOZ Force Protection Team

15.11.2024 EUMAM Mozambique

Maputo, Mozambique - The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM-MOZ) has a specialised team whose responsibilities include the security of all EUMAM-MOZ personnel. This team is the Force Protection Team (FPT).

The FPT is comprised of 12 elements from the Romanian Special Forces. The team is responsible for the security of the EUMAM-MOZ personnel and their property, in accordance with European standards. This is done to guarantee their safety during the execution of the mission, to ensure a permanent individual and collective self-defence of the mission, depending on the situational awareness, and to minimise the vulnerability of the personnel.

To achieve this objective, the FPT carries out defense plan exercises to keep all EUMAM-MOZ personnel ready in case of need. They also regularly practice their own Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) as a team.
