Synopsis

Adapted from Claire Keegan’s novella ‘Foster’, The Quiet Girl is set during a sunny summer in the Irish countryside. Nine-year-old Cáit is sent to stay with distant relatives while her mother prepares to give birth. Quiet by nature, Cáit shyly gets to know the Kinsellas; and yet their affection and gentleness gradually bring into the girl’s life moments of warmness she does not usually experience. But every summer vacation eventually comes to an end.
