Synopsis

One of French cinema’s classic satirical comedies which revolves around the themes of power (and the abuse of power). In 17th century Spain, Don Salluste is a wealthy aristocrat. When the Queen accuses him of having an illegitimate child with one of her servants, Don Salluste devises an elaborate plan. He infiltrates his nephew and his servant in a series of royal intrigues, all in an attempt to get revenge on the Queen. However, luck is not on Don Salluste's side.
