The Mission hosted a workshop on gender equality & women's empowerment, to support progress on inclusive participation of women in security sector and state-building reforms. The discussions enabled updates on Federal Government’s policy reforms and delineated critical capacity needs for women’s organizations in advocacy, as well as mechanisms for better coordination among international actors working in this field. Participants included representatives of the Ministry of Family Affairs and Human Rights Development, EU Delegation to Somalia, EUTM Somalia, Embassy of Canada to Somalia, Embassy of Italy, UN agencies, and civil society organisations.
