EUBAM Libya facilitates "Threat Assessment for a Counter Terrorism Fusion Cell" capacity building
EUBAM Libya, acting as the main organizer and in partnership with the Libyan authorities , facilitated a two-week training programme titled "Threat Assessment for a Counter Terrorism Fusion Cell" from February 25th to March 6th, 2024.
This initiative brought together 15 participants from 9 different Libyan CT agencies, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Libya (MoFA) as an observer. They will collaborate and learn from EU Member States experts (from Germany, Spain, Belgium), and discuss international cooperation with EUROPOL and CEPOL.
The training programme comprises two distinct components:
Week 1: Concentrates on the fundamentals of threat assessment, equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective analysis.
Week 2: Introduces advanced training through scenario-based exercises, focusing on dismantling terrorist cells, countering terrorist financing, and addressing the challenges posed by foreign terrorist fighters.
This collaborative training programme bolsters Libya's capacity to combat terrorism by fostering enhanced skills, knowledge exchange, and coordinated efforts amongst various CT agencies.
