European Higher Education Week 2024: Accessible pathways to a comprehensive education

Hanoi – The European Higher Education Week (EHEW) is organized annually by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam and Embassies of EU Member States in Vietnam. The 2024 edition, taking place from 19-23 October, includes two main events: the Study in Europe Fairs in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and the Erasmus+ Day in Hanoi.

The Study in Europe Education Fairs, for the first time, will mark the in-person participation of nearly 60 universities from different EU countries, delivering exciting and beneficial information and scholarships opportunities across many fields and levels of study. In addition, booths from the EU Delegation, Embassies/Institutions of 18 EU Member States including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, the EU Alumni Network in Vietnam and various EU higher education programs will provide multitudes of perspectives on the experience of living in Europe.

Furthermore, at the Study in Europe Fairs, a special talk with representatives of European businesses in Vietnam will be held for the first time, discussing essential skill developments and possible career paths for European graduates, creating a must-attend event for students considering studying abroad.

As part of EHEW 2024, the Erasmus+ Day will take place, providing valuable insights into the Erasmus+ program for universities, institutions and education managers, while creating opportunities for Vietnamese and European universities to broaden their connections, share best practices in collaborative projects, and establish new partnerships.

Speaking about EHEW 2024, EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier said “EU-Vietnam relations are very solid and have turned into one of the deepest and broadest partnerships within the region. To address the tremendous challenges the world is facing, such as climate change, security, and keeping pace with new technology, requires skilled managers, scientists and experts in a variety of fields. This is what studying abroad can foster, and this is also what an EU study experience can offer.”

Ambassador Guerrier added, “Furthermore, studying in Europe will not only bring you back to Vietnam with what you learned in the lecture theatres and libraries of Europe. Studying in Europe is a unique experience: wide academic choices, affordability, and cultural, social and personal experience. What you will bring back home to Vietnam is your Europe and things about history, society, and innovation that will truly open your mind. I truly believe that after having an opportunity to meet with representatives from nearly sixty EU universities and the EU Member States at the events, all students will be given a variety of tastes of what Europe offers and will be greatly inspired to get prepared for their study journey abroad.”
