5.1 million Venezuelans have left their country, fleeing poverty and hunger. Families must often part ways in the process sending a member ahead to try to earn enough money to bring the others.
Reuniting could take months and losing contact is a concrete risk. Children are the last ones to take the journey to reunite with their parents. 9-year old Sarai travelled more than 2,000 Kilometres with her grandmother, from Venezuela to Peru, to reunite with her mother.
Our intervention helped her locate her mother and find a safe and happy space, where she could play and learn while waiting to hug her again.
