The European Union takes note of the appointment of Alix Didier Fils-Aimé as Prime Minister of Haiti.

The European Union calls on the Transitional Presidential Council, the new government, and all political forces to work with urgency and determination to restore security, prioritise governance and accountability, and work towards the organization of free and fair elections.

As a long-standing partner of Haiti, a major donor of humanitarian assistance, and one of the main providers of development cooperation, the European Union remains committed to assisting Haiti in addressing its severe challenges, particularly the escalating violence, food insecurity, and the internal displacement of its citizens.
