Call for Proposals: Greener Futures: Promoting Sustainable Agribusiness and Climate-Smart Agriculture in Zimbabwe - EuropeAid/183211/DD/ACT/ZW

05.12.2024

The European Union Delegation in Zimbabwe is pleased to announce the publication of a call for proposals to support non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in reinforcing agro-ecological systems, enhancing climate-smart agri-business development, and promoting renewable energy adoption within the agricultural sector, aiming to create synergies between environmental stewardship and economic growth that benefit communities across Zimbabwe.

This call for proposals is part of the EU's efforts to empower civil society organisations to support greener and sustainable agri-businesses and climate resilience in Zimbabwe's agricultural sector. We invite NGOs to submit their proposals for projects that align with the following priorities:

  • Climate smart agriculture: Focus on strengthening agricultural systems to withstand climate challenges by promoting drought-resistant crops, traditional grains, and climate-smart practices that enhance resilience and adaptability.
  • Agribusiness development: Support inclusive and sustainable value chains with agri-business hubs offering essential services to add value, enhance competitiveness, and maintain operations year-round. Focus is on drought resistant crops and traditional grains.
  • Greener production and value addition: Prioritize renewable energy integration and improve infrastructure to support efficient, sustainable agricultural production and value addition.
  • Capacity building and inclusion: Empower farmers, particularly women and youth, through targeted training and support to ensure equitable participation and benefits in agri-business opportunities.
