EU presents the GREEN Tech4CE" Project”

 

Today, the European Union in Zambia officially presented the Green Recycling Enterprises Engaging in New Technology for a Circular Economy in Zambia (GREEN Tech4EC) Project to the Government and private sector representatives. GREEN tech4CE, with a total budget of EUR 22.7m will run from 2024 to 2028.   

The Project is being implemented by a consortium that involves Self Help Africa, Prospero Limited, Imani Development and Tandem Consulting. The Project is targeting startups, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises mainly owned and operated by women and youth in the Green, Circular and Digital Economy in sectors different from agriculture, and based in particular in Lusaka, Copperbelt and Northwestern provinces of Zambia.

GREEN Tech4EC

The project will foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth in Zambia by promoting sustainable practices. The Project is aligned to various policies of key Government Ministries namely Green Economy and Environment; Technology and Science; Commerce, Trade and Industry; Small and Medium Enterprise Development; and Mining and Mineral Development.

GREENTech4CE is working to open the first call for applications for grants from medium sized enterprises on the Green and Circular Economy/waste recovery with a focus on the mining and manufacturing sectors in November 2024.
