Call for proposals to civil society organisations in Yemen

The European Union Delegation to Yemen is pleased to announce a new Call for Proposals as part of EU Support to Civil Society Organisations in Yemen. This initiative presents a unique opportunity for civil society organisations working in women’s rights and inclusion at all levels and/or freedom of expression and independent media. 

 

The specific objectives of this call for proposals are: 

LOT 1

  • Strengthen the capacities of local CSOs to contribute to the inclusion of individuals, specifically targeting women and girls, in all aspects of the socio-economic, political and cultural life.
  • Protect and empower individuals, contributing to the full enjoyment of all human rights, be they civil, political, economic, social or cultural rights, with a particular focus on women and girls
  • LOT 2 
  • Strengthen the capacities of journalists and media to enhance the freedom of expression and enable an environment more supportive of independent media.
  • Protect and empower individuals working in the media environment from the persistent risks and violations of their rights.
  • Contribute to countering misinformation and the misuse of digital technologies, especially when used against the freedom of expression, media workers and to the detriment of human rights defenders, women’s rights organisations and/or humanitarian and development workers. 

ELIGIBILITY: 

  • Eligible organizations are civil society organizations.
  • The initial planned duration of an action cannot be less than 36 months nor exceed 48 months.
  • The actions must be implemented in Yemen.
  • Proposals from local CSOs will be strongly encouraged, in order to promote local ownership.
  • Applications submitted by organizations not established in Yemen must include a partnership with at least one local organization. 

The overall indicative amount available for this call for proposals is EUR 3,447,608.00.

DEADLINE:  The deadline for submitting proposals is May 10th 2024 at 12 p.m. (Brussels time).
