Europe Day 2023
Each year, on the 9th of May, the European Union celebrates peace, solidarity, diversity and unity in Europe. This date marks the anniversary of the historic 'Schuman declaration' that set out his idea for a new form of economic and political integration in Europe, which would make war between Europe's democratic nations unthinkable.
Global challenges, such as climate change, the fight against pandemics or the maintenance of international peace and security can only be solved by multilateral cooperation. This is why we will continue to defend the rules-based international order, based on common objectives and international law. Violating the basic principles of this international order, as Russia has just done, cannot be condoned.
This year the EU Delegation to International Organisations in Vienna organised the Europe Day celebration at Palais Coburg with music from Risto Gjorevski, from North Macedonia and Chorus Juventus from the Vienna Boys’ Choir
