In view of the upcoming national elections to take place in October, the Ambassadors of the European Union and its Member States based in Uruguay convened a series of meetings with the presidential candidates of all the main political parties.

In cronological order, they met with Senator Guido Manini Ríos, candidate for the Cabildo Abierto party, former Presidency Secretary Álvaro Delgado, candidate for the Nacional party, attorney Andrés Ojeda, candidate for the Colorado party, and former Canelones Department Governor Yamandú Orsi, candidate for the Frente Amplio party.

During these meetings, open dialogue was encouraged to discuss each party's proposals.
