This year, in addition to the Ambassador and Deputy Ambassador of the EU Delegation itself, in a "Team Europe" spirit, EU Member State Ambassadors from Italy, Poland, Germany, Cyprus and Hungary will speak, as well as Deputy Ambassador from Belgium and the Romanian General Consul. The Gathering will also hear from European Parliament Vice President Victor Negrescu, MEP,  who will present on what the European Parliament can do for EU citizens in the UK. 

Notable speakers from the UK side include, Lord Ricketts, Chair of the European Affairs Committee, Baroness Ludford, Member of the European Affairs Committee, Liberal Democrat MPs Manuela Perteghella and Richard Foord and Labour MPs Bell Ribeiro-Addy and Mike Tapp. You will also hear from Dominic Grieve, President of the Franco-British Society.

Launch of the EmpowerEU awards

With nearly 6 million EU citizens living in the UK - their contribution to British society is pivotal and this year we are proud to introduce the EmpowerEU Awards.

The EmpowerEU Awards aim to honour outstanding achievements in supporting EU citizens and strengthening EU-UK relations, EU-UK youth cooperation and community champions who have made a lasting impact at the local level.

The following organisations have been shortlisted to receive the EmpowerEU awards:
