‘Women in Conflicts’: Young voices for change

On 21 September 2022, European Council President Charles Michel will co-host the third edition of ‘Women in Conflicts’ together with UN Women, Nadia’s Initiative and the Dr Denis Mukwege Foundation.

The event will bring together survivors, activists, policymakers and leaders and will focus on the voices of young women working in conflict and post-conflict regions. It will also be an opportunity to take stock of the previous editions of the ‘Women in Conflicts’ events and to follow up on the ‘Brussels Declaration on Actions towards Empowering Women in Conflicts’, which was adopted on 9 June 2022.

The event will be held in New York, in the margins of the UN General Assembly week. It will be live streamed from 14.00 local time (20.00 CEST).

Background

This event is a follow-up to the first edition of ‘Women in Conflicts’, held in New York City on 21 September 2021, and its second edition, held in Brussels on 9 June 2022.
