EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová participated in a solemn flower-laying ceremony to mark 1000 days since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine

On 19 November, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová participated in a solemn flower-laying ceremony to mark 1000 days since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The ceremony began with a Minute of Silence to honour the brave Ukrainian heroes who have sacrificed their lives defending Ukraine’s independence and freedom against Russian aggression.

Minute of silence for the fallen defenders of Ukraine

Russia’s invasion did not begin 1,000 days ago. Russian aggression against Ukraine started in 2014 with the illegal annexation of Crimea, followed by the occupation of the Donbas region. We will do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to support Ukraine and ensure a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace,”

said EU Ambassador Katarína Mathernová.
