On 21 November, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, participated in a solemn candle-lighting ceremony to mark the Day of Dignity and Freedom, 11 years since the start of the Revolution of Dignity. The Ambassadors of the EU Member States, along with Ihor Poshyvailo, Director of the National Memorial Complex of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, Svitlana Zalishchuk, and Mustafa-Masi Nayyem, Maidan activists, participated in the ceremony.

"Every time I walk by the Heavenly Hundred Memorial or the Wall of Remembrance, I get a stark reminder of the ultimate price Ukrainians pay for their freedom. Every single life lost, whether on Maidan or the front lines of the war today, is precious. Today and every day, we remember them,"

said Katarína Mathernová, EU Ambassador to Ukraine.
