As part of a larger regional programme on green economy, in line with the objectives of the Economic Investment Plan, a call for proposals is open until 17 April 2023 and aims to support Business Support Organisations (BSOs) and other relevant associations related to private sector development in the field of green and circular economy. Although the green transition is an important focus of the EU’s action in the Southern Neighbourhood region, it is faced with several challenges, among which a certain mismatch between stated goals and the insufficient awareness of public authorities (notably those in charge of industry) and the business community itself. In such context, many opportunities still have to be unlocked and BSOs have a key role to play as ecosystem enablers bridging the gap between policy (macro) and SME (micro) levels.

This call encourages regional exchanges on the green and circular economy, networking activities, partnerships with peer organisations/green economy actors in Europe, notably with organisations such as green economy incubators and cluster organisations in Europe to enhance the dissemination of EU green standards. It also promotes local partnerships between the public, private and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) communities through awareness campaigns on green skills (Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), enhancement of green economy literacy and how to best benefit from the green economy transition.

This call is open to legal persons, non-profit-making and of a specific type (non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, local authority). Applicants must also be established in a Member State of the European Union or one of the Southern Neighbourhood countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia).
