Join the EU Youth Sounding Board in Tanzania!
The European Union Delegation to Tanzania is calling for candidates to apply for the EU Youth Sounding Board (YSB). As an important component of the Youth Action Plan (YAP) launched in 2022, the YSB seeks to strategically partner with young individuals in EU external action, focusing on youth engagement, empowerment, and harnessing the demographic dividend.
About the Youth Sounding Board
Comprising 25 young members from diverse regions of Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar, the YSB advises the EU Ambassador on youth participation and empowerment in key areas such as the blue economy, human capital and employment, and governance. This aligns with the United Republic of Tanzania Multiannual Indicative Programme 2021-2017.
Opportunities for Engagement
Members will serve a two-year mandate, participating in activities aimed at providing advice to the EU Ambassador, supporting the implementation of the Youth Action Plan, attending both in-person and virtual plenary meetings, building links with existing youth initiatives, and contributing to ad-hoc issues. Although the mandate is unpaid, travel and meeting costs are covered, and a monthly allowance for data costs is provided.
Who Can Apply
We encourage diversity and inclusivity, welcoming applications from motivated young people aged 18-30. Two application options are available: individual application or nomination by a youth organization. Candidates should possess experience in youth participation and empowerment, outreach and engagement skills, communication skills, creativity, and motivation.
How to Apply
The application deadline is 31 January 2024. Submit a completed application form, curriculum vitae, and a letter of motivation explaining your interest in joining the YSB and your experience in youth issues to [email protected]

Please note that no confirmation emails will be sent, so apply well in advance of the deadline to prevent potential technical issues. The European Union Delegation may request further documentation during the selection process from shortlisted candidates, who will be required to provide proof of eligibility criteria.
