Recap
Rome, mid-1940s: Delia is a housewife devoted to caring for her husband Ivano, their three children, and her father-in-law while taking on a few small part-time jobs. Ivano, the undisputed head of the family, earns just enough to keep a roof over their heads, yet he frequently asserts his role as provider, sometimes with harsh words and even his belt. Delia’s primary goal is to secure a suitable marriage for her daughter, until a mysterious letter arrives, igniting her courage to change everything.
