Under the IPA-I program (2007-2013), three consecutive projects on the electricity market have contributed significantly to the full integration of the Turkish Electricity System with the European Electricity System (European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity-ENTSO-E).

As a concrete result of the successful implementation of these three projects, Türkiye signed a long-term agreement with ENTSO-E in April 2015 and became an observer of the ENTSO-E in January 2016.
