Commissioner for Preparedness, Crisis Management, Equality, Hadja Lahbib, will travel to Jordan (17- 19 January) and Türkiye (20 - 22 January). The objective of the visit is to underscore the EU’s commitment to addressing urgent humanitarian needs and fostering collaboration in the region.

During her visit, Commissioner Lahbib is scheduled to meet with high-level government officials in both countries, UN agencies, civil society and representatives of international organisations. Discussions will focus on the EU’s ongoing humanitarian support, particularly in Gaza and for Syrians, as well as to strengthen preparedness, and the importance of ensuring aid reaches vulnerable populations swiftly and effectively. She will also visit EU aid projects helping Syrian refugees and host communities in both countries.
