Recap
In a suburban area of Strasbourg, where the population is predominantly comprised of working-class and immigrants, tensions are mounting in the streets. Malika is shattered by the news that her 25-year-old brother, Karim, has been killed in a police assault. She gathers her family and friends and begins a fight for justice for her murdered brother.

Director

Mehdi Fikri
Growing up in the suburbs of Paris, Mehdi Fikri spent years working as a journalist, conducting numerous investigations into police brutality, working-class neighbourhoods, and social movements. In 2012, he took his first step into the audiovisual world with the internet documentary ‘Chronique d'une (R)évolution manquée,’ which he co-directed. He worked as a screenwriter on several TV series and directed two shorts. ‘After the Fire’ represents his feature-length directorial debut.
